KPOP Song of the Week – “Boogie Man” by Hong Jin Young

For this weeks KPOP Song of the Week we’ve chosen “Boogie Man” (부기맨) by Hong Jin Young (홍진영). This song was officially released this past Thursday the 21st of March on YouTube and so far it has amassed around 18,000 views. Here are our reasons for choosing “Boogie Man” for our song of the week:

  • Firstly the song is in a more classic “Trot” Korean music style, which makes us feel a little nostalgic.
  • Secondly the video is simple and doesn’t over dramatize the song.
  • Finally the dance in the video is super easy to copy, compered to other current KPOP releases.
  • On the negative side, the key theme is Boogie Man but in this song the Boogie Man is a love interest. Which is a little strange IMO.

  1. My first Hong Jin Young song…cute. I like the video. I know people who work in offices like this, but not with as much style or cute dance moves. Thumbs up.
