For this weeks KPOP Song of the Week we’ve chosen “One Shot” by B.A.P (비에이피). This song was officially released on the 11th of February on YouTube and has done well on the different KPOP charts. Here are our reasons for choosing “One Shot” for our song of the week:
- Firstly the song is a huge improvement compared to their previous release “Rain Sound (빗소리)”, it sounds more B.A.P and less generic KPOP boy band love song.
- Secondly the video is good, the song flows quickly, it mixes the drama parts and dance routines well.
- Finally there is a nice mix of rapping, strong vocals and harmonies.
- On the negative side, B.A.P sound cool but they don’t look gangster. They all are very thin and clean, so that aspect of the MV does lack a little realism.
Who are B.A.P
B.A.P (비에이피) stands for Best Absolute Perfect. The group is made up of 6 members Bang Yong Guk, Kim Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, Jong Up, and Zelo. They released their first song a little over a year ago and during the past year they have developed a large following both in Korea and around the world. The group ranges in age from the oldest Yongguk who is 22 to the youngest Zelo who is just 16.
