For this weeks KPOP Song of the Week we’ve chosen “Do you like it?” (맘에드니) by Yoari (요아리). This song amittedly is less mainstream KPOP and maybe concidered KROCK or KINDIE, however we thought that it deserved some attention. This song was officially released on the 14th of January on YouTube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Do You Like It?” for our song of the week:

  • Firstly the song different from most mainstream Korean Music, and shows that Korea does produce some great artists in non-pop or RnB genres.
  • Secondly the video is simple and doesn’t detract or distract from the music.
  • Finally the song is catchy, memorable and enjoyable, you could listen to it plenty of times without issue.
  • On the negative side, the video does cut from one view or scene very quickly, your eyes often hardly have time to focus.
