For this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week we’ve chosen “Hello” (헬로) by Cho Yong Pil (조용필). It was released this past Tuesday April 23rd and has amassed just short of 300,000 views on Youtube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Hello” for our song of the week:
- Firstly the song has a more unique style and sound which is a nice change of pace.
- Secondly the video has a cool storyline and it matches well to the song. Plus it’s enjoyable to watch.
- Finally Cho Yong Pil is old, maybe 40 years older than everyone else in the KPOP charts currently, but this song doesn’t sound dated.
- On the negative side; the video intro is too long.
