For this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week we’ve chosen “Wild” (와일드) by Nine Muses (나인뮤지스). It was released on Wednesday May 8th and has amassed just over 150,000 views on Youtube (plus the LOENENT channel version has reached 440,000 views). Here are our reasons for choosing “Wild” for our song of the week:
- Firstly the song is a nice mix of powerful vocals and rapping with a cool electronic feel background.
- Secondly the video…well…it’s proved to be very popular with male KPOP fans :). It’s let say, sexy. (It’s rated 19 in Korea)
- Finally this is the return of 9 Muses and it’s a great song and also shows that the group is growing and maturing.
- On the negative side; the video is maybe a little over the top and maybe has detracted and distracted from otherwise a very good song.

More Information on Nine Muses
Basic Background: Nine Muses were formed in 2010 and consist of 9 members. Although some have come and gone the overall style of the group hasn’t changed much in their 3 years. They’ve released a few songs in their 3 years however the main focus has been on live shows.
It’s also worth noting most of the member are also models (like with most female KPOP bands)
