This weekend is a strange week as there are only 4 games and they mostly are games which have been moved due to Champions League fixtures clashes. Therefore we’ve called this Round X of the Korean K League Classic 2013 (not round 14) . All 4 games being played on Saturday (fixtures listed above). Also it’s worth noting that some players are unavailable and away on international duty. Here is a brief preview of each game plus our prediction:
K League Classic Round X:
Jeju United vs. Pohang Steelers (Saturday 3pm)
The first game of the week sees a top of the title clash between Jeju United (4th) and Pohang Steelers (1st). The two side are only 3 points apart in the table. Jeju United have done well over the past few weeks beating Suwon Bluewings and drawing vs. Incheon United (0-0) and FC Seoul (4-4). Pohang returned to winning ways last weekend with a 4-2 win over Daegu. After both team played in classics last weekend it seems likely this game maybe a little dull and we’re predicting a draw.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Jeonbuk Motors vs. Busan I’Park (Saturday 5pm)
The 2nd of Saturday’s games is a mid table clash between Jeonbuk Motors (5th) and Busan I’Park (8th). Jeonbuk contained their good run of form last weekend with an impressive win over Gangwon 3-1. On the other hand Busan I’Park lost their 8 game unbeaten record crashing 3-0 at home to Incheon United. We siding with the form book on this one and opting for Jeonbuk to win.
Prediction: 2 – 0
Suwon Bluewings vs. Gyeongnam (Saturday 6pm)
The 3rd Saturday game has 6th placed Suwon Bluewings host 11th placed Gyeongnam. Suwon are on an awful run of form losing their last 3 games and only scoring 1 goal. Gyeongnam have also been struggling recently losing 4 of their last 5, they did however beat Daegu. Something has to give in this game and we think that it’s Suwon Bluewings run of bad form, so we’re siding with Suwon.
Prediction: 1 – 0
FC Seoul vs. Chunnam Dragons (Saturday 7pm)
The final game of this round it a middle table clash with FC Seoul (10th) hosting Chunnam Dragons (9th). Chunnam Dragons are on a great run of form at the moment unbeaten in 8 (W3 D5 L0) and last week they beat powerhouse Suwon Bluewings. FC Seoul had a dreadful start to the season however recently they’ve improved with (W3 D1 L1) from their last 5. Therefore we honestly think this game will be an entertaining draw.
Prediction: 2 – 2
K League Classic Round X Results
Saturday June 1st
Jeju United 2 – 3 Pohang Steelers
Jeonbuk Motors 1 – 4 Busan I’Park
Suwon Bluewings 0 – 0 Gyeongnam
FC Seoul 3 – 0 Chunnam Dragons
Our Round X Predictions Round Up
Embarrassingly we got everything wrong, we went with the form book but this week (like many) doesn’t work out that way.
