As the K League Classic is on a month long international break, we thought that we’d have a little look at the K League Challenge. The K League Challenge is basically the K League 2 or second division of football here in South Korea. The league is made up of 8 teams with the winner advancing to a promotion playoff vs. the K League Classic 12th placed team.
Here are our predictions:
K League Challenge Round 12:
Round 12 was played on Thursday June 6th which was also a national holiday here in South Korea.
These were the results:
Suwon City 3 – 0 Korean Police
Gwangju 1 – 1 Bucheon 1995
Chungju Hummel 1 – 3 Goyang Hi
FC Anyang 2 – 1 Sangju Sangmu
With league leaders Korean Police and Sangju Sangmu both falling to surprising away defeats the rest of the league has been able to catch up a little. Bucheon 1995 also scored their equalizer in the 97th minute, the Korean style this week :).
K League Challenge Round 13 Fixtures, Predictions & Results:
Round 13 of the K League Challenge is spread over 2 days with 3 games on Sunday and 1 game on Monday evening.
Here are our thoughts:
Chungju Hummel vs. Suwon City – Sunday @ 7pm
This should be an interesting game at the bottom of the table, however Suwon’s improved form should give them the edge.
Prediction: 0 – 2
Gwangju vs. Korean Police – Sunday @ 7pm
The before seemingly unbeatable Police have lost there last 2 games and are without a couple of players who’re away with the national team. However we feel this will end in a draw.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Sangju Sangmu vs. Goyang Hi – Sunday @ 7.30pm
Goyang Hi won their first ever K League Challenge game last weekend whilst Sangju lost for the first time this season mid-week. Sadly for Goyang we feel their winning run will end today.
Prediction: 3 – 1
FC Anyang vs. Bucheon 1995 – Monday @ 8pm
Mondays game sees the 2 K League Challenge phoenix clubs meeting. Bucheon 1995 have been this seasons surprise package whilst FC Anyang have been solid. This game will be close, but we think a draw.
Prediction: 0 – 0
K League Challenge Round 13 Results:
Chungju 0 – 1 Suwon City FC
Gwangju 1 – 0 Korean Police
Sangju Sangmu 2 – 1 Goyang Hi
FC Anyang 3 – 1 Bucheon 1995
Our Predictions scored 2 correct results but no perfect scores. Not bad for our first attempt at the K League Challenge.
