For this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week we’ve chosen “Give It To Me” by Sistar (씨스타). It was released this past Monday June 10th and has already amassed close to 1.6 million views so far on Youtube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Give It To Me” for our song of the week:
- Firstly the song is simple and catchy, if a little more mature than most KPOP songs.
- Secondly the video is simple and enjoyable, although there is no real story.
- Finally Sistar have always been a little more sexy and sexual, so this video and song isn’t a big shock. And it’s something that their male fans will enjoy :).
- On the negative side; the title and main tagline of the song it an English teachers worst nightmare. Because students here in Korea will be singing that one line all summer.

Sistar is made up of 4 members leader Hyolyn (효린) plus Bora (보라), Soyou (소유) and Dasom (다솜). They have grow over the last few years and now stand out as one of the top female KPOP Groups maybe only behind Girls Generation and 2NE1.
