If you’re planning on bring a US XBox360 or Playstation 3 (PS3) with you to South Korea you need to know about Power Conversion. In the US electronic products are wired for 120volt outlets, however in South Korea outlets are wired for 220volt products. For most products a like cell phones, cameras, tablets etc a simple converter is fine. You might also be able to buy a new power cord for Korean outlets.
The US versions of the XBOX360 and the Playstation 3 are different, they use power in a different way and if you plug them straight into a Korean outlet they will overheat and maybe fry the internal wiring. So you need to buy a Power Converter or Downtransformer with at least a 1000watt (1KVA) resistance.
The one we purchased from a local hardware store that cost ₩24,000 ($24) and it works perfectly.

Where to buy a Power Converter?
(1) We personally used our Local Hardware Store, the price is a little more than one of the other options but you have the ability to return it easily and you can also speak (in Korean) with somebody who knows about this type of thing. The only downside it that small hardware store might not have it in stock at the time and would need to order it for you.
(2) Their are a few listed on GMarket, and if you can wait a few days for it to be delivered this is the cheapest and easiest option. Here are a couple that we found:
GMarket Link (Choose Option B when Checking Out)
(3) Finally you have the option of a large Supermarket such as Homeplus, Lotte Mart or EMart. However all three of these only sell high priced verisons, maybe double the price of what you really need.
We personally used these links and found the information provided very useful, but sadly they are a little hidden away:
