The K League Classic now moves into round 23 of the regular season and with only 4 games now until the split, so every game is must win. This weekends Fixtures are listed above.
Here are our brief previews of each game as well as predictions for this K League Classic Round 23:
K League Classic Round 23:
Suwon Bluewings vs. Seongnam (Saturday 7pm)
5th placed Suwon Bluewings host 9th placed Seongnam in one of the two Saturday games. Suwon have been a little hit or miss in recent weeks with 2 defeats sandwiched between 3 wins. Seongnam finally won last weekend giving them faint hopes of make the top half before the split. We honestly feel that Suwon at home will be to strong for Seongnam this weekend.
Prediction: 2 – 0
Jeonbuk Motors vs. Chunnam Dragons (Saturday 7pm)
4th placed Jeonbuk Motors host 10th placed Chunnam Dragons in the second of Saturdays 7pm games. Jeonbuk have been on impressive form recently with 3 wins and 2 draws from their last 5 games. They also should have won last weekend but gave up a 2 – 0 vs. high flying Ulsan. Chunnam have also improved recently and are unbeaten in 3 games. However we feel that Jeonbuk will prove a little to strong for them this weekend.
Prediction: 1 – 0
Pohang Steelers vs. Gyeongnam (Sunday 7pm)
Current league leaders Pohang Steelers host 11th placed Gyeongnam Sunday evening. Pohang are currently on a 4 game winning run and also haven’t conceded a goal in those 4 games, however they were a little lucky vs. Daejeon last weekend. Gyeongnam on the other hand are on a 3 game losing run which has meant they’ve dropped down the table and face a possible relegation battle. Because of this we’d siding with Pohang to take the 3 points.
Prediction: 2 – 0
Busan I’Park vs. Ulsan Hyundai (Sunday 7pm)
8th placed Busan I’Park host 2nd placed Ulsan Hyundai in a sort of South East Derby. Both teams need to win for different reasons. Busan I’Park are still in the mix for a place in the championship round of the K League split, but have lost 3 of their last 5 games (the other 2 games they won). Ulsan Hyundai are still in the title hunt, however they’ve drawn their last 2 games giving Pohang a 3 point lead. This game will be pretty close but we feel that Ulsan will take the 3 points.
Prediction: 1 – 2
Gangwon vs. Incheon United (Sunday 7pm)
13th placed Gangwon host 6th placed Incheon United in the 3rd of Sundays games. Gangwon are currently on a 8 game winless run, but their 2 wins this season have both come at home. Incheon United have also been on a little bit of a poor run with only 1 win from their last 5 games, which also included 2 draws and 2 defeats. They do however have the 2nd best away form in the league and therefore we’re siding with an Incheon win.
Prediction: 0 – 1
Jeju United vs. Daegu (Sunday 7pm)
In the final Sunday 7pm game of the week 7th placed Jeju United host 12th placed Daegu. Jeju United recorded an impressive 4 – 0 win over Gangwon last weekend with helped take them back into the top half of the league. Daegu gained a valuable point against Chunnam to lift themselves out of the relegation zone and close the gap on 11th place to 4 points. We honestly feel that Jeju will take the 3 points this weekend.
Prediction: 3 – 1
