K League Classic 2013 Round 25

As the regular season draws to a close the K League Classic moves into round 25 of the regular season and with only 2 games now until the split (including this round). This weekends Fixtures are listed above. Once again because there isn’t long until the end of the regular season and the split (2 games). We thought that it would be useful to make a current league table. The current points are in brackets:

K League Classic 2013 Table August 27th

With only 2 games to go there are only 5 teams who don’t know which side of the split they’re going to be on. They are Suwon (although they’d need to loss both games heavily to not progress), Incheon, Busan, Seongnam and Jeju.

Here are our (extra) brief previews of each game as well as predictions for this K League Classic Round 25:

K League Classic Round 25:

Busan I’Park vs. Jeju United (Wednesday 7.30pm)

7th placed Busan I’Park host 9th placed Jeju United in a real 6 pointer. Jeju United have to win this game to have any chance of making the Championship round, whilst a win for Busan will mean they will almost certainly make it into the Championship round. As you might have guesses this will be a have close game, but because of their recent form we’re siding with Busan

Prediction: 3 – 2

Chunnam Dragons vs. Gyeongnam (Wednesday 7.30pm)

10th placed Chunnam face 11th placed Gyeongnam with both teams certain of placed in the relegation round.  A win for either would help them move away from the rest of the relegation pack. Both sides have poor recent form with neither side winning in the last 4 games. So we think a draw is most likely.

Prediction: 1 – 1

Daejeon Citizen vs. Daegu (Wednesday 7.30pm)

14th placed Daejeon face 12th placed Daegu in a relegation 6 pointer. Daejeon won for just the 2nd time all season this weekend in another 6 pointer vs. Gangwon, and will be hoping to continue. Daegu are only 3 points ahead of Daejeon (but with a much between GD), and have only gained 2 points from their last 5 games. This will be a close game but we feel Daejeon will win again (just).

Prediction: 2 – 1

FC Seoul vs. Jeonbuk Motors (Wednesday 7.30pm)

A battle at the top of the league as 4th placed and reigning champions FC Seoul face 2nd placed Jeonbuk Motors. Both teams come into this game with the same recent form 4W and 1D and with only 2 points between them in the league this could go either way. So we’re sitting on the fence a predicting a draw.

Prediction: 2 – 2

Incheon United vs. Suwon Bluewings (Wednesday 7.30pm)

This is the second mid table six pointer as Incheon United (6th) host Suwon Bluewings (5th). A win for either side will book their place in the championship round and a draw would be enough for Suwon. So we’d expect a cagey game. Incheon’s recent form has been a little hit and miss (2W, 1D, 2L) so we feel this one could be a draw.

Prediction: 1 – 1

Seongnam vs. Gangwon (Wednesday 7.30pm)

8th placed Seongnam are still casing a change of making the championship round and host 13th placed Gangwon. Seongnam are unbeaten in 4 games (2W & 2D) whilst Gangwon have the worst form in the league and are without a win in 9 games. They even loss to relegation rivals Daejeon this past weekend. We’re going to side with Seongnam in this game.

Prediction: 2 – 0

Ulsan Hyundai vs. Pohang Steelers (Wednesday 7.30pm)

The final game of round 25 is a huge game in the title race as 3rd placed Ulsan Hyundai host league leaders Pohang Steelers. Pohang are currently on strong form will 4 wins and a draw in their last 5 games. Ulsan on the other hand are not doing so well losing their last 2 games and drawing the 2 before that. However they have the best home form in the league so we feel that a draw is a likely outcome.

Prediction: 1 – 1
