For this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week we’ve chosen “Coup D’etat” by G-Dragon. It was released a week ago on Sunday September 1st and in this past week has amassed over 3,000,000 views so far on YouTube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Coup D’etat” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song cool and flows wonderfully from start to finish.
- Secondly the video is interesting, symbolic, scary, funny, sexy and more. It’s hard to describe.
- Finally G-Dragon has maybe the prince of KPOP and therefore you know he’ll only release a quality song.
- On the negative side; the slight blackface part of the video maybe symbolic but it was maybe not a great idea.
