Hello any and welcome to another Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week. This week we’ve chosen “Request” by Infinite. It was released back on September 26th and has been viewed just under 575,000 times so far on YouTube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Request” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song has a softer and more mellow sound in comparison to previous releases which we like.
- Secondly the video is fun and mixes a good amount of story and behind the scenes style scenes. Also the light bikes were pretty cool.
- Finally Infinite have displayed some strong vocals in this song and not gone to far away from previous releases.
- On the negative side; the large amount of Samsung product placement was a little tacky at times.
More Information on Infinite
Infinite or 인피니트 started their journey back in 2010 when they released a couple of extended plays, however it was in 2011 when they found success. Their are 7 members of the band aged between 24 and 19. This year (2013) they headed on their first world tour visiting countries such as Taiwan and Thailand but also the UK, France and Peru (less KPOP focused markets).
