Hello any and welcome to another Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week. This week we’ve chosen “Very Good” by Block B (블락비). It was released a little over a week ago back on October 1st and has been viewed just over 930,000 times so far on YouTube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Very Good” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song has a fast tempo, is fun and memorable.
- Secondly the video is amazing whilst at the same time insane. It’s like a cross between PSY and G Dragon.
- Finally Block B have combined great Rapping and Harmony’s to produce a very enjoyable song.
- On the negative side; just saying I’m Very Good isn’t maybe the strongest adjective but it works.
More Information on Block B
Block B (블락비) launched as a group back in 2011 and is comprised of 7 members (Zico, Taeil, B-Bomb, Jaehyo, U-Kwon, Kyung & P.O). They are all aged between 23 & 20 years old and were all born in South Korea (5 in Seoul, 1 in Suwon and 1 in Busan). The group was the vision of rapper and hip-hop artist Cho PD. They had strong success in the next 2 years with a little controversy, AKA Zico shaving his head for Thailand. At the start of this year they had a legal battle and problems with their now former label Stardom Entertainment. However they’re now back and signed with Seven Seasons.
