Round 35 of the K League Classic features a full schedule of games (2 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday), with some key clashes in both the championship and relegation groups. As there are only 6 rounds of games to go we’ve are once again including a league table for reference:
As you can see on the league table the Ulsan Hyundai are currently leading the way and it looks like the championship and the double is theirs to lose. In the relegation group Daejeon look out of it but one of 4 teams could join them.
This weeks preview of the K League Classic Games is in a slightly briefer style than normal;
K League Classic:
Saturday November 2nd:
FC Seoul vs. Suwon Bluewings (2pm) – Championship Group
This is one of the biggest games in the whole of Asian football and it really fails to live up to expectations. FC Seoul’s league form recently has been awful 3 defeats in 3 games whilst Suwon have been doing a little better with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat form their last 3 games. We expect a close game and most likely a draw.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Chunnam Dragons vs. Jeju United (2pm) – Relegation Group
Chunnam Dragons are desperately in need of a win, as they have lost their last 4 games. Jeju United on the other hand are safe of clear and therefore are just playing for fun these days. We expect a close game with a draw once again a likely result.
Prediction: 0 – 0
Sunday November 3rd:
Busan I’Park vs. Pohang Steelers (3pm) – Championship Group
Busan I’Park are currently bottom of the championship group and only have 2 points from their last 5 games. Pohang Steelers are still in the title hunt and showed improved form during the week beating Incheon United. We feel that Pohang will be to strong for Busan this weekend.
Prediction: 0 – 2
Incheon United vs. Ulsan Hyundai (4pm) – Championship Group
Incheon United have found the championship group hard going so far and haven’t won in 8 games. Ulsan on the other hand are the groups in form side winning 4 of their last 5 games. Although it will be close Ulsan should take home the 3 points.
Prediction: 2 – 3
Seongnam vs. Gyeongnam (4pm) – Relegation Group
Seongnam are still facing an uncertain future, although in the past week or so the city as taken over the side. But in the league they still sit top of the relegation group although only gaining 1 point from their last couple of games. Gyeongnam on the other hand have been much improved recently and have gained 6 points from their last 3 games. This being said we feel that Seongnam will take the 3 points but the game will be close.
Prediction: 2 – 1
Daejeon Citizen vs. Daegu (4pm) – Relegation Group
This is a true relegation 6 pointer as the 2 bottom sides meet. Daejeon won their last game and therefore will be trying to complete an unlikely recovery. Daegu have gained 5 points from their last 3 games. This season Daejeon have been pretty awful at home and therefore we’re siding with a Daegu win.
Prediction: 1 – 2
K League Classic Results

FC Seoul 2 – 1 Suwon Bluewings
Chunnam Dragons 0 – 1 Jeju United
Sunday November 3rd
Busan I’Park 1 – 3 Pohang Steelers
Incheon United 0 – 1 Ulsan Hyundai
Seongnam 2 – 1 Gyeongnam

K League Classic Predictions Round Up
Not a great week with 3 correct results but only 1 perfect score.
K League Challenge
The K League Challenge is now into round 31 of it’s 35 round season. All of the games are important at this stage of the season, however the games for the two title challengers Sangju Sangmu and Korean Police are maybe the standout ties.
As there are only 5 games left to play, because of this and similar to the K League classic we’ve made a K League Table for reference:
Sangju Sangmu are currently 7 points clear at the top of the table and so a few more wins will seal the title and a place in the promotion/relegation playoffs.
K League Challenge Round 31 Results
Chungju Hummel 0 – 0 Goyang Hi
Sangju Sangmu 2 – 1 Bucheon 1995
Gwangju 4 – 0 FC Anyang
Suwon City FC 2 – 0 Korean Police
Sangju Sangmu can take the first ever K League Challenge title with a win next weekend when they travel to Goyang Hi. Assuming that Korean Police can beat Bucheon 1995 on the Saturday afternoon.
