Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, the third of 2014. This week we’ve chosen the new release by Rainbow Blaxx (레인보우 블랙), a subgroup of the KPOP girl group Rainbow. The song is titled “Cha Cha” and it was released one week ago on Sunday January 19th. In the last week it has already been viewed over 1,400,000 times on YouTube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Cha Cha” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song mixes strong vocals, harmonies and rapping into one fun and interesting song.
- Secondly the video is sexy but fun and interesting. It tells a bit of a story and keeps your eyes glued to the screen (maybe more the guys than the girls 🙂 )
- Finally this is an interesting first release by Rainbow Blaxx and is different from the normal Rainbow releases but still at the same high standard.
- On the negative side; the video has attracted some negative media due to it’s overly sexy style, and it’s 15 rating.
