Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, the fourth for February 2014. This week we’ve chosen the debut solo release by Sunmi (선미), best known as from girl group Wonder Girls. The song is titled “Full Moon” (보름달) and it was released a week ago on Sunday February 16th. In the 7 days it has already been viewed over 1,000,000 times on YouTube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Full Moon” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song has a nice gentle and mellow sound, which nicely matches the song.
- Secondly the video shows a bit of a story which some interesting vampire themed scenes. As well as the now popular sexy outfits and dancing.
- Finally Sunmi was a strong member of wonder girls and this is a solid debut release which should gain her new fans as well as keeping the old ones happy.
- On the negative side; the story in the video is a little lacking.
