Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, the third for March 2014. This week we’ve chosen the new release from Orange Caramel. The song is titled “Catallena” (까탈레나) and it was released this past Tuesday March 11th. In that small amount of time it’s been viewed over 750,000 times on YouTube. Here are our reasons for choosing “Catallena” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song is fun and has a retro disco vibe which is a little different from other KPOP songs.
- Secondly the video is very well made, it tells a story and the set designs are very interesting.
- Finally Orange Caramel which is a sub group of After School are slowly growing a bigger fan following which is great to see.
- On the negative side; it’s a little cheesy which might not be to everyone’s taste.
