The K League Classic moves into Round 4 and it’s first midweek round of the season. None of the teams can have excuses for lack of match fitness or needing time to gel as almost 10% of the season is already done.
As there has now been 9 points up for grabs the League Table is starting to form and therefore for reference here is the latest K League Classic 2014 League Table, including Points and Goal Difference:
The league table shows that after 3 games the Hyundai sides from Ulsan and Jeonbuk are leading the way with surprise packages Jeonnam, Busan and Jeju a close 3rd to 5th. Also a little surprisingly FC Seoul and Incheon United are currently at the foot of the K League table and are both still looking to kick start their seasons.
This midweek there are 6 games all on Wednesday Evening. Also all of the games are being played in the evening as they’re Wednesday games either at 7pm or 7.30pm. Fortunately we’re having a slight end of the month warm spell. Here are brief previews of this weeks K League Classic Round 4 Games;
K League Classic 2014 Round 4 Previews & Predictions
Wednesday March 26th:
Gyeongnam vs. Incheon United (7pm)
This midweek round starts with a clash towards the bottom of the table as 9th placed Gyeongnam take on bottom side Incheon United. Both sides come into the game with 2 game losing runs, however Incheon have had the tougher games. This should be a close game, and so we’re siding with an entertaining but close draw.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Jeonnam Dragons vs. Ulsan Hyundai (7pm)
This is a slightly surprising 1st vs. 3rd clash. Current league leaders Ulsan Hyundai come into the game with a 100% record so far this season, 3 wins, 7 goals scored and 0 conceded. Jeonnam strangely have a 100% away record but lost their only home game so far of the season. Sadly for Jeonnam we see Ulsan streching their winning run to 4.
Prediction: 1 – 2
Jeonbuk Hyundai vs. Pohang Steelers (7pm)
Maybe the biggest match on paper this midweek, 2nd placed and undefeated Jeonbuk Hyundai host reigning champions Pohang Steelers. Pohang Steelers snatched a last minute 3 points on Saturday vs. Suwon, whilst Jeonbuk played out a bore draw vs. Sangju Sangmu. This has the making for a great match, and although Pohang looked better on Saturday we feel Jeonbuk will use their home advantage for the win.
Prediction: 3 – 2
FC Seoul vs. Jeju United (7.30pm)
FC Seoul come into this game close to the foot of the table with only 1 point from their previous 3 games. Jeju United on the other hand have had a solid start to the season picking up 6 points so far. Both sides have been involved in close games all season and so you’d feel this one will be no different and a draw is the most likely outcome.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Seongnam FC vs. Suwon Bluewings (7.30pm)
Seongnam FC have found life as a citizen club pretty tricky so far, as they’ve only gained 1 point and have yet to score a single goal (but only conceded 2). Suwon started well but have gotten worse, losing this past weekend in the dieing minutes. Both sides have their issues, however we feel Suwon maybe a little to strong for Seongnam this Wednesday evening.
Prediction: 0 – 2
Busan I’Park vs. Sangju Sangmu (7.30pm)
Busan had a pretty awful start to the season losing 3-0, but have bounced back by beating both Pohang Steelers and FC Seoul. Sangju Sangmu, have also looked solid drawing all 3 of their opening games. This is a tough one to call but we feel that Busan should be able to win this one (just).
Prediction: 2 – 1
