Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, the first for April 2014. This week we’ve chosen the new release from Crayon Pop (크레용팝). The song is titled “Uh-ee” (어이) and it was released last Monday March 31st. In the past week it has been viewed around 2,000,000 times on YouTube. In a week of a few big new releases, here are our reasons for choosing “Uh-ee” for our KPOP song of the week:

  • Firstly the song has an interesting trot (classic KPOP) style with a fun chorus.
  • Secondly the video features a number of other KPOP stars as well as a small story.
  • Finally Crayon Pop over the past year have been many peoples guilty pleasure and we hope they keep this cute fun style.
  • On the negative side; it’s maybe not as catchy as Jumping (Bababa).
