The K League Classic moves into Round 7 and for the second time this season it’s a midweek round of matches. So far some teams are doing better than expected whilst others less so. This past weekend (round 6) featured 5 draws and therefore the league hasn’t changed much, but still for reference here is the latest K League Classic 2014 League Table. Including Points and Goal Difference:
As already mentioned the league table hasn’t changed much because 10 of the 12 sides were involved in draws this past weekend. The only side to win were Jeju United who jumped up to 5th place. Everybody is as before, Ulsan Hyundai lead the way whilst Incheon United sit at the bottom of the table.
This midweek round of games features all 12 K League Classic sides. Games start at either 7pm or 7.30pm Wednesday evening. Here are brief previews of this weeks K League Classic Round 6 Games;
K League Classic 2014 Round 7 Previews & Predictions
Wednesday April 9th:
Sangju Sangmu vs. FC Seoul (7pm)
This midweek round starts with a clash as the bottom of the table between 11th placed Sangju Sangmu and 9th placed FC Seoul. Sangju are currently on a 2 game losing streak, whilst FC Seoul have only 1 win all season. This will be a close game which we personally feel will be end in a draw.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Jeju United vs. Jeonbuk Hyundai (7pm)
This past weekends only winning side Jeju United take on current 2nd placed side Jeonbuk Hyundai. Jeju seem to be regaining form after a slight blip. Jeonbuk on the other hand seem to be in the middle of a blip in form, drawing their last 2 games. Once again this will be a close game, but we see Jeju being able to take the 3 points.
Prediction: 1 – 0
Pohang Steelers vs. Gyeongnam (7.30pm)
Pohang host Gyeongnam in a South East local derby of sorts (not really) at 7.3opm. Pohang played in the best game of round 6 this past weekend drawing on the road vs. Jeonnam. Gyeongnam also drew in an entertaining game vs. Suwon, but should have won after giving up a 2 – 0 lead. This game should be interesting, however we feel Pohang should be able to win.
Prediction: 2 – 0
Incheon United vs. Busan I’Park (7.30pm)
Bottom side Incheon United host 7th placed Busan I’Park in an important game for both sides. Busan will be looking to regain form after only gaining 2 points from their last 3 games. Incheon United are still looking for their first win of the season and first goals since the opening weekend. Either side should and could win this one, however we feel Incheon with home advantage will edge it.
Prediction: 1 – 0
Ulsan Hyundai vs. Seongnam FC (7.30pm)
League leaders Ulsan Hyundai host Seongnam FC 10th placed Seongnam FC. Ulsan played out a dull 0-0 this weekend on the road vs. Busan I’Park whilst Seongnam were also involved in a boring scoreless draw (vs. Incheon United). Ulsan have won all 3 of their home games so far this season and we personally can see them making it 4 from 4.
Prediction: 3 – 1
Suwon Bluewings vs. Jeonnam Dragons (7.30pm)
The final game of the round is maybe the biggest on paper as Suwon Bluewings host Jeonnam Dragons. Both sides are pushing towards the title race, with Jeonnam currently 3rd and Suwon currently 6th. Both drew at the weekend and will be looking to bounce back. A close game on paper and we can see it going either way. So we’re siding with a draw.
Prediction: 1 – 1
