Before looking at the previews and predictions for this weeks round 5, here is updated an updated K League Challenge 2014 league table:

K League Challenge 2014 League Table April 18th

FC Anyang are currently leading the way with Daejeon and Ansan only a point behind. Goyang lead the playoff places chasing pack, which also includes Daegu, Chungju, Suwon and Gwangju. Bucheon and Gangwon are at the bottom, both still looking for their first wins of the season.

K League Challenge 2014 Round 5 Previews & Predictions

Saturday April 19th

Gangwon vs. Daegu (2pm)

This weekends first game features two sides relegated from the K League Classic last season. Gangwon are currently bottom of the league and showing no K League Classic class. Daegu improved last weekend to win their 2nd game of the season (from 4) and will hope to push on. If Gangwon wake up they could get a result from this one, but on paper we’re siding with Daegu.

Prediction: 0 – 2

Chungju Hummel vs. Daejeon Citizen (4pm)

The first of Saturdays later kick offs features entertainers Chungju Hummel (haven’t played a boring game all season) and 2nd placed Daejeon Citizen who are scoring for fun. Chungju lost their unbeaten record last weekend and feel to 6th. Whilst Daejeon won comfortably 4-0 over Gwangju. This one could be the game of the weekend (in both divisions), but we feel Daejeon will edge it.

Prediction: 1 – 3

Suwon City FC vs. Bucheon 1995 (4pm)

Two sides both looking for some form meet in Saturdays final game. Suwon City have lost their last 2 games and currently sit 7th. Bucheon 1995 are still looking for their first win, but at least picked up their first point last weekend vs. Gangwon in an entertain 2-2 draw. This one should be close and we feel a draw is the most likely outcome.

Prediction: 1 – 1

Sunday April 20th

Gwangju vs. FC Anyang

Sundays first game features current league leaders FC Anyang and middle table side Gwangju. Anyang beat previous league leaders Ansan last weekend to take top spot. Gwangju also lost but more heavily 4-0 vs. Daejeon. We feel Anyang will edge this one.

Prediction: 1 – 2

Ansan Police P-P Goyang Hi

The final game of the weekend maybe an emotional game for the home side due to the Sewol Ferry Disaster on Wednesday. Of course sadly 330 High School Students from Ansan were involved. At the moment to game is scheduled to go ahead but that may change.
On the pitch Ansan are currently 3rd and lost for the first time last weekend, Goyang are this seasons surprise team and are currently in 4th. However Ansan should prove to much for Goyang.

Update: The game has been postponed until August.

Prediction: N/A

Suwon came from behind at home in an end to end game vs. Bucheon.

Gwangju controlled a dull Sunday afternoon game vs. a lackluster Anyang.
