K League Challenge 2014 Round 6

The K League Challenge moves into round 6 of the 2014 season, even though we’ve only had a handful of games it’s already proving to be an exciting and interesting season. Once again like the past couple of weeks we’re trying something a little different and doing separate posts for the K League Classic and K League Challenge.

Before looking at the previews and predictions for this weeks round 6, here is updated an updated K League Challenge 2014 league table:

K League Challenge 2014 League Table April 25th

After round 5’s matches the league looks a little different. Of course for obvious reason the game between Ansan and Goyang was postponed and they’re a game behind the rest. Daejeon currently lead the way and have a 2 point advantage over Anyang. Ansan and Daegu fill the final 2 playoff spots. Suwon, Gwangju and Goyang complete the mid table, all on 7 points. Chungju are 8th on 5, whilst Bucheon and Gangwon sit at the bottom both with just 1 point.

Saturday April 26th (all games at 2pm)

4th placed Daegu take on 2nd placed FC Anyang in this Saturday afternoon game.
FC Anyang lost last weekend 2-0 away vs. Gwangju

Both teams are evenly matched and this will likely end in a draw.

Prediction: 1 – 1

Goyang Hi didn’t play last week, however 2 weeks ago they beat Suwon City 1-0 at home.
Chungju Hummel lost heavily last week 4-0 vs. Daejeon Citizen.
This should be an entertaining game, which we feel will end in a draw.

Prediction: 2 – 2

Sunday April 27th (all games at 2pm)

Gangwon vs. Suwon City (4pm)

Bottom side Gangwon take on 5th placed Suwon City on Sunday afternoon.
Gangwon lost for the 4th game in 5 last weekend 1-0 vs. Daegu at home.
Suwon City won last weekend 3-2 vs. Bucheon at home.
We feel Suwon should be able to edge Gangwon.

9th placed Bucheon face 1st placed Daejeon in a top vs. bottom clash.
Bucheon lost last weekend 3-2 away to Suwon City.

Daejeon should be able to easily beat Bucheon.

Prediction: 0 – 2

Gwangju vs. Ansan Police

6th placed Gwangju take on 3rd placed Ansan Police in Sundays final game.
Gwangju beat previous league leaders Anyang last weekend 2-0 at home.
Ansan Police for obvious reasons did not play last weekend.
