The K League Challenge moves into round 9 of the 2014 season, this is also their first mid week round of games and with the K League Classic now on the summer break this is the top level of domestic action for the next 8 weeks.
Before looking at the previews and predictions for this weeks round 9, here is updated an updated K League Challenge 2014 league table:
After round 8’s fixtures the K League Challenge league table is still very tight (maybe tighter). Daejeon now have a clear 7 point lead at the top of the table. Then we have 8 teams separated by just 4 points (Daegu, Suwon, Goyang, Anyang, Ansan, Gangwon,Chungju and Gwangju). Then we have Bucheon 1995 at the bottom of the table 4 points from 9th.
K League Challenge 2014 Round 9 Previews & Predictions
Here are brief previews and predictions for this Wednesdays 4 games.
Wednesday May 14th
Ansan Police vs. Chungju Hummel (N/A)
This game has been postponed until later in the summer.
Prediction: N/A
Gwangju vs. Suwon City (7pm)
9th placed Gwangju host 3rd placed Suwon City in the first of Wednesdays games.
Gwangju have lost their last 2 games whilst Suwon have 4 points from their previous two games.
However Suwon City are poor away and Gwangju pretty good at home, therefore we feel this will end in a draw.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Goyang Hi vs. Gangwon (7pm)
4th placed Goyang Hi face 7th placed Gangwon in the second 7pm kick off.
Goyang lost for only the second time this season at the weekend.
Gangwon are on a 3 games winning run.
This really could go either way, however we feel a draw is the most likely outcome.
Prediction: 2 – 2
FC Anyang vs. Daejeon Citizen (7.30pm)
League leaders Daejeon Citizen travel to 5th placed FC Anyang.
Anyang haven’t won in 4 games both home and away.
Daejeon are 7 points clear and haven’t lost since the start of the season.
Daejeon should win this one, but it will be close.
Prediction: 1 – 2
Daegu vs. Bucheon 1995 (7.30pm)
Wednesdays final game features 2nd placed Daegu hosting bottom club Bucheon 1995.
Daegu have drawn their last 3 games.
Bucheon won for the first time this past weekend.
Daegu should be able at home to win this one, however recent form shows it will be a close one.
Prediction: 1 – 0
