The K League Challenge moves into round 11 of the 2014 season, and with the K League Classic stopping for the summer the Challenge is now the main source of domestic football until the beginning of July.

Before looking at the previews and predictions for this weeks round 11, here is an updated K League Challenge 2014 league table:

K League Challenge 2014 League Table May 23rd

After last weekends round 10’s fixtures the league remains pretty unchanged and still extremely tight. There are only 4 points between 3rd and 10th, and with teams having games in hand it’s still very close after 10 games. Daejeon Citizen are away and clear at the top with a 10 point lead over Daegu in 2nd. Gangwon are 2 points behind them in 3rd, 1 point above Suwon and Goyang both on 12 points. Anyang and Gwangju are on 11 with Ansan and Bucheon on 10. Chungju are now bottom of the league with just 9 points from their 9 games.

K League Challenge 2014 Round 11 Previews & Predictions

Here are brief previews and predictions for this Weekends (and Mondays) 5 games. It’s also worthwhile noting that all of the games are being played in the evening as the league enters summertime.

Saturday May 24th

Daejeon Citizen vs. Suwon City (7pm)

The first game of the weekend has league leaders Daejeon Citizen hosting 4 placed Suwon City.
Suwon have only 1 win in their last 5 games.
Daejeon haven’t lost in the league since the start of the season vs. Suwon City. But did lose in the Cup during the week to lower league opposition Pocheon.
Daejeon should be able to ease to the 3 points in this one.

Prediction: 3 – 1

FC Anyang vs. Daegu (7pm)

In Saturdays second game 6th placed FC Anyang host 2nd placed Daegu.
Anyang are on an awful run of form which as seen them lose 4 in their last 5 and slip down from top spot.
Daegu won for the first time in 5 games last weekend.
This one should be close, but we see Daegu edging it on the night.

Prediction: 0 – 1

Sunday May 25th

Bucheon 1995 vs. Gwangju (7pm)

The first of Sundays games has 9th placed Bucheon 1995 hosting 7th placed Gwangju.
Bucheon have won their last 3 games.
Gwangju have lost 3 of their last 4 games.
If Bucheon continue their recent form they should be able to win this one.

Prediction: 2 – 1

Gangwon vs. Chungju Hummel (7pm)

Sundays second game features 3rd placed Gangwon hosting bottom club Chungju Hummel.
Gangwon lost for the first time in 5 games last weekend 2-0 vs. Daegu.
Chungju have only won twice all season and have the worst defensive record in the league.
Gangwon have been inconsistent all season however they should be able to beat Chungju.

Prediction: 4 – 2

Monday May 26th

Goyang Hi vs. Ansan Police (7pm)

In the solo Monday fixture 5th placed Goyang Hi host 8th placed Ansan Police.
Goyang Hi haven’t won in 3 games now and have slipped out of the playoff places.
Due to the Sewol ferry disaster Ansan Police haven’t played any home games recently and have 4 games in hand over the top sides.
This one will be close and Ansan will be lacking a little match fitness.
