The popularity in and demand for Bubble Tea in South Korea has exploded in the past couple of years with both new bubble tea stores opening up as well as Coffee Shops offering bubble tea. Because it’s a new product the quality varies and some places sadly aren’t very good. However there are a few top places and the Gong Cha Chain the maybe the best.
Thoughts: They are in basically every cities now and the big shopping malls generally have one so availability is very good. The stores are nicely designed and the staff are well trained and knowledgeable. The range of options is good if a little overwhelming. The added benefit of being able to choose the sugar and ice levels is a really nice touch and matches what you might find in Taiwan. The prices are a little expensive, but the quality makes up for it.
If you’re looking for Bubble Tea in Korea Gong Cha should be your first stop.

OMG YES!!! Love it
I adore Gong Cha! I must be in there every other day, and I have to agree that it’s high up there, if not the best, place for bubble tea. The black milk tea with pearl is delicious.
