In the past couple of years the concept and interest in craft beers has become more and more popular here in South Korea. Which is a good sign that Korean tastes towards beer are improving. Pong Dang Taphouse is located in the HBC area of Itaewon (very close to the US military base), in Seoul (full directions and map below). This area in pass few years has transformed from a normal Korean area to being more cool and popular with younger Koreans. The taphouse is located on the main and is a little more classy than some of the other local bars.
Thoughts: Firstly the bar itself is really nice and cozy, with a warm feel. We personally tried two of the beers on tap the Mosaic Pale Ale and the Oatmeal Stout. All of the beers are the same price ₩5,500. The Mosaic Pale Ale had a great color, a almost fruity aroma and the taste was very nice. The Oatmeal Stout was thick and once again full of flavor, it was almost like a sweet version of Guinness.

Location and Directions to Pong Dang Taphouse
It’s actually pretty simple to find, if you’re traveling from Noksapyeong Station take exit 2 and walk down the hill, cross the road as soon possible. It’s opposite the popular churros place on the 1st floor. If you past Standing Coffee you’ve gone too far. This map should help;
