K League Challenge 2014 Round 15

The K League Challenge moves into round 15 of the 2014 season, and with the K League Classic still on their summer break for another 2 weeks the Challenge is still the top source of domestic football. Of course due to the world cup being in full swing this preview will be brief.

Before looking at the previews and predictions for this weeks round 15, here is an updated K League Challenge 2014 league table:

K League Challenge 2014 League Table June 20th

After last weekends round 14 games the table has started to stretch out a little as the top 4 side all won. The only movers were Suwon go up 1 place up to 5th and Goyang Hi dropping down to 6th. Daejeon Citizen are still 13 points clear at the top of the table and at the bottom Ansan Police and Chungju Hummel need to find some form.

K League Challenge 2014 Round 15 Previews & Predictions

Here are (extra) brief previews and predictions for this Weekends (including Monday) 5 games. It’s also worthwhile noting that all of the games are being played in the evening as the league has now entered summertime and it’s to hot during the day.

Saturday June 21st

Daegu vs. Daejeon Citizen (7pm)

In Saturdays first game is a top of the table clash as 2nd placed Daegu host leaders Daejeon Citizen.
Both sides are on good form and are evenly matched.
This looks like a draw but it should be a quality game.

Prediction: 1 – 1

Chungju Hummel vs. Goyang Hi (7pm)

Saturdays second game features bottom side Chungju Hummel hosting 6th placed Goyang Hi.
Neither side are on good form with both without a point in their last few games.
Once again this will be close and a draw seems the most likely outcome.

Prediction: 1 – 1

Sunday June 22nd

Gangwon vs. FC Anyang (7pm)

In Sundays first game two playoff placed sides meet as Gangwon host FC Anyang.
These sides are currently level on points and have similar form.
However we’re siding will Gangwon as Anyang have poor away form.

Prediction: 2 – 1

Suwon City vs. Gwangju (7pm)

In the 2nd Sunday game 5th placed Suwon City host 8th placed Gwangju.
Suwon have won their last 2 and Gwangju haven’t won in their last 5 games.
This is really Suwon’s to lose.

Prediction: 2 – 0

Monday June 23rd

Bucheon 1995 vs. Ansan Police (8pm)

The final game of this round on Monday features 7th placed Bucheon 1995 and 9th placed Ansan Police.
Bucheon have lost their past 2 games, whilst Ansan Police haven’t won since the start of April.
Bucheon have been poor at home and Ansan have just been plain poor and so this looks like it will end in a draw.

Prediction: 1 – 1
