The World Cup is now a little over 10 days old and although some big sides have already crashed out, the influence of the World Cup can be seen and found here in South Korea. A number of different products are proudly displaying the World Cup Logo and a few stores are also running special World Cup 2014 offers.
World Cup Themed Products / Merchandise
Here we have one of the bigger World Cup sponsors Coca Cola, with the World Cup logo is of course on all of there bottles and can at the moment. But there’s also this Golden Cup Set which includes 2 777ml bottle (7 for luck maybe?) and a Metal Golden Cup. It’s a little expensive at ₩5,500 ($5.50) but a nice reminder of the world cup.
Of course Powerade is produced by Coca Cola but it in a different market and that’s why we’ve featured it here. The World Cup logo is of course on the bottles but there is also a hard to find sports drink bottle also available in a set.
The main beer sponsor of the World Cup is Budweiser (although at the ground they don’t seem to be drinking it). In Korea a special set of cans in available and also cans are currently Gold.
The official Korean Beer of the World Cup is Cass, and at the moment most of the cans and bottles feature at least a World Cup logo and Korean team logo.
Cartons of Seoul Milk at the moment features pictures of the South Korea National Team squad members and coach.
World Cup Themed Special Offers in South Korea
For the morning after each of the South Korean group games Dunkin Donuts has offered a Breakfast Combo Special Offer. Which includes an Egg and Ham English Muffin and either a Coffee or Juice for only ₩1000 ($1). The only limitation is that it’s only until 11am.
At on days when South Korea play they are offering a limited number of Free Coffees. There is also a limited edition World Cup themed Chicken Salsa Burger.
