The new international city of Songdo in Incheon, South Korea contains a number of interesting places to visit. One of the best during these summer months is Central Park. Songdo Central Park covers an area a little over 100 acres and has a number of different yet interesting features. The park was completed back in 2009 and was loosely based / modeled on New York’s Central Park. It’s easy to access and a great place to visit during these hot summer months, here are a few photos as well as more details on what’s on offer;
Pictures of the Park and Lake / River
Firstly the park itself offers a peaceful place to walk around and the pictures show a nice contrast between the modern city and the tranquil park.
Pictures of the Canoes, Boats and Bikes
One of the activities on offer in Central Park are Canoe and boat rental for use on the lake, as well as bike rental for us around the park. Here are a few pictures including a price guide (subject to change);
Pictures of the Songdo Deer
Songdo Central Park is home to a small herd of deer, although they don’t provide much entertainment it’s an interesting aspect of the park;

Is there a place to rent a single seat bike in Songdo?
Yes, at the same place as renting boats and tandem bikes. Located towards the Southern end of the lake.
How long does it take to get to Songdo central park from Seoul by subway? Thanks! (:
It depends on where you’re traveling from in Seoul. From Hongdae maybe 90mins, from Gangnam closer to 2 hours via Subway. It maybe quicker to take the bus.
Can I bring my own canoe, kayak, stand up paddle board to the lake/river? Or, am I only allowed to rent the equipment which provided?
Honestly we don’t know. The only dock point is the rental area, so we’d guess it’s not officially possible. However it seems unlikely anyone would stop you.
Hello,
Do you know what is the best way to get from Incheon Chinatown to Songdo Central Park? Would it be by bus or by train? If by bus, do you know the route?
Thanks in advance!
Subway, the new subway line extension has now opened. Incheon Station to Woninjae Station then down to Central Park Station.
Should take around 50mins.
Taxi would take 30mins and cost a little over 10,000.
Thank you for the prompt reply, much appreciated! 🙂 Seems like taxi is a good option as well.
how to get to Seoul station from Songdo?
There’s at least 1 bus which runs between the Songdo and Seoul Station. But you could also take the subway. It depends on where in Songdo?
Try search Naver, Daum or Google Maps.
Hi. Does the park have a closing time? We’ll be arriving into Incheon around 4pm and flying home the following morning but would like to take a walk/boat around the park late afternoon / early evening.
Getting from Incheon Airport to Songdo takes maybe an hour, and the boats etc aren’t available after dark. So you’d be cutting it very close. However you could still walk around the park and enjoy the rest of Songdo.
