K League Classic 2014 Round 22 August 23rd

The K League Classic moves into the 22nd round of the season, this weekend there are a number of interesting games. August is a busy month as all teams are playing at least 5 games each.

K League Classic League Table

As there has now been 21 games played (over half) and everybody has played each other at least once and the table to starting to take shape. So for reference here is the latest K League Classic 2014 League Table; including Games Played, Points and Goal Difference:

K League Classic 2014 League Table Augst 22nd

The league table don’t change much last weekend, Jeonbuk and Pohang still lead the way and FC Seoul are starting to build a gap in 7th. Seongnam and Gyeongnam make up the relegation zone.

K League Classic 2014 Round 22 Previews & Predictions

This weekends round of games are equally split between Saturday and Sunday, and all games are in the evening (7pm or 7.30pm). Here are brief previews of the K League Classic Round 22 Games;

Saturday August 23rd 2014:

Gyeongnam vs. Pohang Steelers (7pm)

This Saturdays first game is a top vs. bottom battle between 12th placed Gyeongnam and 2nd placed Pohang Steelers.
Gyeongnam won for the first time since the end of the March last weekend.
Pohang Steelers have won 2 and lost 2 of their previous 4 games.
Pohang will go into this one favorites but it maybe closer than it looks on paper.

Prediction: 0 – 2

Jeonbuk Hyundai vs. FC Seoul (7pm)

Saturdays 2nd game is between 2 in-form sides, league leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai and 7th placed FC Seoul.
Jeonbuk are unbeaten in 10 games, winning their previous 4.
FC Seoul have only lost once in their last 10 games, but played out a dull goalless draw in the ACL during the week.
Both sides are on good, but at home we’re going to side with Jeonbuk.

Prediction: 2 – 1

Ulsan Hyundai vs. Sangju Sangmu (7.30pm)

Saturdays final game is a mid table clash between 6th placed Ulsan Hyundai and 8th placed Sangju Sangmu.
Ulsan have lost 2 and won 2 of their previous 4 games.
Sangju Sangmu have only 1 win from their last 7 games.
Ulsan should be able to edge this one, but it won’t be easy.

Prediction: 1 – 0

Sunday August 24th 2014:

Incheon United vs. Jeju United (7pm)

Sundays first game is between 9th placed Incheon United and 4th placed Jeju United.
Incheon United lost for the first time in 5 games last weekend.
Jeju United won for the first time in 4 games.
Incheon have the joint best defensive record in the league and therefore a draw seems a likely outcome.

Prediction: 1 – 1

Suwon Bluewings vs. Seongnam FC (7pm)

Sundays second game is between 3rd placed Suwon Bluewings and 11th placed Seongnam FC.
Suwon have 3 wins from their last 5 games.
Seongnam have lost their previous 3 games and are the leagues lowest goalscorers with only 13 goals.
Suwon will be favorites to win this one.

Prediction: 2 – 0

Busan I’Park vs. Jeonnam Dragons (7.30pm)

The final game of this weekend is between 10th placed Busan I’Park and 5th placed Jeonnam Dragons.
Busan I’Park won for the first time in 12 games last weekend.
Jeonnam also broke a losing streak by winning for the first time in 5 games.
Jeonnam have a solid away record and we see them winning this one.

Prediction: 0 – 1
