The K League Classic moves into the 27th round of the season, and with not much time left in the main season (i.e. before the split) every game is important. Also September is another busy month with at least 5 games each as well as the distraction of the Asian Games (starting this weekend in Incheon).

K League Classic 2014 League Table September 19th

The league table does make for interesting reading and there are a number of tight areas. After last weekends round of games a few teams have moved both up and down. Jeonbuk and Pohang continue to lead and have built a nice 6 point gap. Suwon, Jeju, FC Seoul and Ulsan complete the top half. Jeonnam are 14 points clear of the bottom sides in 7th. The bottom five sides Incheon, Sangju, Seongnam, Busan and finally Gyeongnam are only separated by 5 points.

K League Classic 2014 Round 27 Previews & Predictions

This weekends games are split between Saturday (4) and Sunday (2), and take place once again in the afternoons, as the weather is getting a little cooler. Here are brief previews of the K League Classic Round 27 Games;

Saturday September 20th 2014:

Jeonbuk Hyundai vs. FC Seoul (2pm)

This weekends first game is between current leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai and 6th placed FC Seoul.
Jeonbuk only have won 2 of their last games (drawing the other).
FC Seoul have only lost once in their last 15 games, winning their last 3 in a row.
Both sides are on good form and therefore a draw seems a likely outcome.

Prediction: 1 – 1

Ulsan Hyundai vs. Incheon United (2pm)

Saturdays 2nd game is a clash between 6th placed Ulsan Hyundai and 8th placed Incheon United.
Ulsan have won 3 but lost 2 of their previous 5 games.
Incheon United have just 1 win in 5 and have one of the weaker strikeforces in the league.
These sides maybe 2 places apart but there is a 14 point difference, and Ulsan will be favorites.

Prediction: 2 – 0

Suwon Bluewings vs. Pohang Steelers (4pm)

Saturdays final game is top of the table clash between 3rd placed Suwon Bluewings and 2nd placed Pohang Steelers.
Suwon Bluewings are unbeaten in 5 with 2 wins and 3 draws.
Pohang Steelers have won 3 of the their last 4 games.
These sides are evenly matched and a draw seems the most likely outcome.

Prediction: 0 – 0

Gyeongnam vs. Sangju Sangmu (4pm)

Sundays final game is a bottom of the table clash between 12th placed Gyeongnam and 8th placed Sangju Sangmu.
Gyeongnam haven’t won in 5, and are running out of time to escape relegation.
Sangju Sangmu won last weekend, just their second win in 12 games.
Both sides are struggling and often draw, so that’s the way we see this one good.

Prediction: 2 – 2

Sunday September 21st 2014:

Seongnam FC vs. Jeju United (2pm)

Sundays 1st game is a match between 10th placed Seongnam FC and 4th placed Jeju United.
Seongnam have just 1 win in 8, and they are still the leagues lowest goalscorers with only 18 goals.
Jeju United are unbeaten in 6, and have only lost 5 times all season.
Jeju will be slight favorites, but aren’t always great away from home.

Prediction: 0 – 1

Jeonnam Dragons vs. Busan I’Park (2pm)

Sundays 2nd game is between 7th placed Jeonnam Dragons and 11th placed Busan I’Park.
Jeonnam have lost their last 3 games, and are now in the bottom half.
Busan I’Park have only 1 win from their previous 17 league games.
Jeonnam will be favorites to turn their form around in this one.

Prediction: 3 – 1
