The K League Classic moves into the 31st round of the season, and with not much time left (3 games) in the main season (i.e. before the split) so every game is important. Also October is the final month of the main season.
K League Classic League Table
As there has now been 30 games played (so only 3 games to go in the main season) and everybody has played each other at least twice and the table to starting to take shape. So for reference here is the latest K League Classic 2014 League Table; including Games Played, Points and Goal Difference:
The league table does make for interesting reading and there are a number of tight areas. Jeonbuk Hyundai now have a 5 point lead at the top of the table with Suwon Bluewings now in second, level on points with 3rd placed Pohang Steelers. Jeju, Seoul and Jeonnam are all slightly above the bottom half. Ulsan are the only side who have a chance of catching them. Incheon, Gyeongnam and Seongnam sit just above the main relegation battle. Sangju and finally Busan complete the table.
K League Classic 2014 Round 31 Previews & Predictions
This weekends round of games take place on Saturday and Sunday and are evenly split with 3 games on each day. Games take place in the now cooler afternoons. Here are brief previews of the K League Classic Round 31 Games;
Saturday October 11th 2014:
Incheon United vs. Pohang Steelers (2pm)
Saturdays first game is between 8th placed Incheon United and 3rd placed Pohang Steelers.
Incheon United have won 2 and drawn 2 of their previous 4 games.
Pohang Steelers have lost 2 and drawn 2 of their last 4 games.
Incheon have home advantage and the better recent form, so we’re siding with them just.
Prediction: 3 – 2
Suwon Bluewings vs. Jeonnam Dragons (2pm)
Saturdays 2nd game is a clash between 2nd placed Suwon Bluewings and 6th placed Jeonnam Dragons.
Suwon Bluewings are unbeaten in 9 with 5 wins and 4 draws.
Jeonnam have only won 1 in 6, and have lost half of those games.
Suwon will be heavy favorites to win this one and continue their late surge for the title.
Prediction: 2 – 0
Gyeongnam vs. Seongnam FC (4pm)
Saturdays 3rd game is a relegation battle between 9th placed Gyeongnam and 10th placed Seongnam. Both sides are level on points.
Gyeongnam have won 2 and drawn 2 of their last 4 games.
Seongnam have just 1 win in their last 6 games.
Seongnam are poor away and Gyeongnam are on strong form, so we’re siding with the home team.
Prediction: 1 – 0
Saturday October 12th 2014:
Busan I’Park vs. Jeju United (2pm)
Sundays opening game is between the league most Southern based teams. Bottom side Busan vs. 4th placed Jeju United.
Busan I’Park have picked up 5 points from their last 3 games, but are still bottom of the league.
Jeju United won for the first time in 5 games last weekend.
This looks close on paper but we’re going to side with Jeju.
Prediction: 0 – 2
Jeonbuk Hyundai vs. Ulsan Hyundai (2pm)
Sundays 2nd game is an all Hyundai clash between leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai and 7th placed Ulsan Hyundai.
Jeonbuk have won 3 and drawn 2 of their last 5 games.
Ulsan have lost their last 2 games and haven’t won in 4.
Jeonbuk should win this one, but you never know when there’s a rivalry.
Prediction: 1 – 0
Sangju Sangmu vs. FC Seoul (4pm)
Sundays final game is between 11th placed Sangju Sangmu and 5th placed FC Seoul.
Sangju Sangmu have lost 3 of their last 4 games.
FC Seoul won for the first time in 4 on Thursday evening.
FC Seoul will be slight favorites, but fatigue maybe an issue.
Prediction: 1 – 2

K League Classic 2014 Round 31 Predictions Round Up

K League Challenge 2014 (Round 31)
Here are this weekends round 31 fixtures in the K League Challenge. There are a number of interesting clashes, however the top of the table clash between run away leaders Daejeon Citizen and 2nd placed ever improving Gangwon looks like the stand out game.
Also for reference here is the current league league. As you can see it’s still very tight with so few games to go, only 5 points separate 2nd placed Gangwon and 8th placed Goyang Hi.
