One of the things that South Korea isn’t missing are Shopping Malls and shops in general. However they can range in quality, one of the better ones is the NC Cube Mall / Canal Walk Shopping Street in Songdo, Incheon. It is located close to Songdo Central Park. It has a number of benefits and a couple of drawbacks. Firstly the benefits; there are a number of different stores from higher end fashion to Coffee Shops, home-wares and of some fast food. Another benefit is that it’s pretty quiet even on the weekend and during the summer months. It’s even has the rarely seen on street parking possibility, which for anyone who drives in Korea is nice to see. Finally there are a few other interesting sights in the area including Songdo Central Park. The only slight drawback is the location toward the southern end the new Songdo island area of Incheon, which is a little bit of a trek from most of Incheon and Seoul.

If you’re traveling there via Subway it’s best to exit via the Central Park Station (Exit 4) or International Business District Station (Exit 5).
From Central Park Station walk past the Tri-Bowl Building and then follow the road right and it’s across the main road.
From International Business District Station walk down towards Songdo Central Park (i.e. away from the sea). Then cross the road and turn left. For more detailed directions from your location here is a map;

I’m going to be in Incheon in a few weeks but I’m only there for a day. I want to buy some eyeglasses so if there’s a shop or two you could recommend, that would be great. I also want to eat fried chicken and just wander around to see the sights. Thanks!
It’s depends on where in Incheon you’re visiting if it’s only for day, it’s a big city and not the easiest to get around.
If you’re in Songdo, the Canal Walk is a good place to start if you’re looking for glasses but there maybe a language barrier if you don’t speak Korean. Therefore maybe somewhere at the airport.
Fried Chicken is pretty easy to find, the most famous place for it is Sinpo Market close to Incheon Station and Chinatown.
Note the airport is located on an island away from Incheon and it takes at least an hour to travel into the city, maybe more.

I’m not too concerned about the language barrier when it comes to getting glasses. I have my RX on paper and can point and make it work 🙂 I’ve done it a few times in Korea already. Korea has the best frames and for the best price.
When I say I have a day, I have a full day. Fly in at night, sleep, go explore, sleep some more, have breakfast and then head back to the airport around 11 am. My hotel is sort of close to the airport so I won’t have to lug my suitcase around. I figured I can get up the next day and take the train into Incheon or into Seoul to Seoul station. I’m not sure if it would be best to stay in Incheon (i’ve never explored Incheon so that seems exciting) or go into Seoul. I’m flexible. If there’s any must sees, please let me know. Again, thanks!
I’ll be staying at the Orakai Songdo Park Hotel and will need to buy some winter clothes and winter boots for my five-year-old daughter. Can you please recommend a nearby shop I can go to? Thank you!
There are a number of stores in the NC Cube Mall that sell winter clothes (mainly brand names). For cheaper options the Lotte Mart (Supermarket) which is right next to your hotel is the best place to check.
