You don’t have to look far to see drink for sale and being enjoyed here in South Korea. Both domestic and foreign brews are popular however generally people stick with the local stuff due to price. These days though that trend is starting to change as cheap imports enter the market. We’ve already looked at a few but here another example a German Beer called “Paderborner” from a company of the same name. It comes in 2 different varieties; Pilsener (Red) and Export (Blue). Here are the key points that we noticed when trying Paderborner;
- The price is the same as the normal local brews ₩1600 to ₩1800 for a 500ml can or around ₩1000 for a 330ml can.
- It’s only currently available in South Korea at Lotte Mart.
- Brewed by Brauerei Paderborner.
- Imported from Germany.
- The Export is 5% Alcoholic Content by Volume, whilst the Pilsener is also 5%.
Overall, it’s main selling point as like other cheap imports is it’s price. However it’s also a nice change of pace when compared to domestic brews.

Haha, duuude, Paderborner in South Korea? No way! I’m from around Paderborn and this is one of the nastiest beers in Germany. I drink it sometimes for nostalgia’s sake, but certainly not because of its taste 😀
