Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our second for June 2015. Although there were a number of interesting new releases recently, we’ve chosen the new release from KPOP boy band MBLAQ. The song is titled “Mirror” and it was released a few days ago on Monday June 8th. In that time it has been viewed around 250,000 times on the CJENMMusic YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “Mirror” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song is clean and focuses more on vocals which is nice to see. The rapping, solos and chorus all blend together nicely.
- Secondly the video is simple but does include a small story line, some dancing and other scenes that match the lyrics well.
- Finally MBLAQ have been around since back in 2009 and have slowly but surely found their sound and developed a solid fan base.
- On the negative side; their name MBLAQ is ok, but “music boys live in absolute quality” just seems rushed.
