Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our Third for July 2015. Although there were a number of interesting new releases recently, we’ve chosen the new release from KPOP Superstar Group Girls Generation (소녀시대). The song is titled “Party” and it was released back on Tuesday July 7th. In that time it has been viewed over 16million times on the SMTOWN YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “Party” as our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song is catchy, fun and in a classic girls generation style. The vocals as always are strong.
- Secondly the video is fun, seasonal and links well to the video. But does lack any storyline.
- Finally Girls Generation are KPOP royalty they only release a few songs a year but when they do they’re all popular and quality.
- On the negative side; the product placement / video advertizements are now part of the industry but do take away a little from this release.
