After a short break for the All-Star game last weekend the K League Classic returns and moves into round 23 with an interesting summers weekend of fixtures. The highlight game this round of games is the derby clash between FC Seoul and Incheon on Saturday evening. This game is always intense and should prove exciting.
Updated K League Classic League Table
The league table is still close in the middle but gaps have started to appear. Jeonbuk Hyundai have at the top and are 7 points clear. Suwon and Jeonnam are just behind them, with Pohang, Seongnam and FC Seoul completing the top half. Incheon, Jeju and Gwangju are separated by just 1 point in 7th-9th. Then come Ulsan, Busan and finally Daejeon who are 9 points adrift, completing the table.
K League Classic 2015 Round 23 Previews & Predictions
This round of games take place on Saturday (3) and Sunday (3). All of the games take place in the early evening. Here are our previews of this weekend K League Classic Round 23 Games (sorry a little brief);
Saturday July 25th 2015:
FC Seoul vs. Incheon United (7pm)
FC Seoul haven’t won in 3 games on the bounce in the league, but won in the FA Cup during the week vs. Pohang.
Incheon United have the tightest defense in the league, conceding just 17 goals all season. They also won in the cup beating Jeju away.
Always a close game as it’s a derby and see honestly see a draw.
Prediction: 2 – 2
Ulsan Hyundai vs. Seongnam FC (7pm)
Ulsan Hyundai have only won twice in 18 games and are currently down in 10th place.
Seongnam have won 4 of their last 5 games, helping them move up to 5th.
These played on Wednesday evening in the FA Cup with Ulsan winning after extra time. However Seongnam in the league recently have been strong and we see them edging it on the road.
Prediction: 0 – 1
Pohang Steelers vs. Gwangju (7pm)
Pohang Steelers looked to have regained a little form last time out beating Seoul 3-1 on the road.
Gwangju won for the first time in 6 games 2 weeks ago.
Both sides seem to be regaining a little form, however we see Pohang at home edging this one.
Prediction: 1 – 0
Sunday July 26th 2015:
Jeonbuk Hyundai vs. Suwon Bluewings (7pm)
League leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai have 3 wins and 3 draws from their last 6 games.
Suwon Bluewings have 3 wins and 2 draws from their previous 5 games.
1st vs. 2nd of course will be a close game and we see a quality draw here.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Busan I’Park vs. Daejeon Citizen (7pm)
Busan have just 1 win in 10, with only 1 point from their last 6.
Daejeon Citizen have only picked up 8 points all season, and have lost their last 5 straight.
A parallel game to the 1st of Sundays fixtures as these are the bottom two clubs. However we see Busan edging it.
Prediction: 2 – 1
Jeonnam Dragons vs. Jeju United (7pm)
Jeonnam Dragons have only lost 1 in 9, and progressed to the semi-finals of the FA Cup during the week.
Jeju United have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 3 of their previous 7 games. With showing a real mix of form.
Jeonnam will be favorites here as they’re on form and Jeju United don’t travel well.
Prediction: 3 – 1
