Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our Fifth and Final for August 2015. Although there were a number of interesting new releases recently, we’ve chosen the new release from KPOP Superstar Group Girls Generation (소녀시대). The song is titled “Lion Heart” and it was released back on Monday July 17th. In that time it has been viewed over 10million times on the SMTOWN YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “Lion Heart” as our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song is catchy, features strong vocals and lyrics from start to finish (as you’d expect from Girls Generation). It’s also different from their previous release Party.
- Secondly the video is fun, contains an interesting if slightly strange storyline with a lionhead love interest. Plus some great dance routines.
- Finally Girls Generation are KPOP royalty they only release a few songs a year but when they do they’re all popular and quality.
- On the negative side; Just like a few of their previous videos product placements and slightly over long intro is a slight negative on the video.
