Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our fourth for September 2015. Although there were a number of interesting new releases recently, we’ve chosen the new release from Girl Group Lovelyz (러블리즈). The song is titled “Shooting Star“ and it was released this past Tuesday September 8th. In that time it has been viewed over 400,000 million times on the 1theK YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “Shooting Star” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song is soft but strong in it’s lyrics. Easy to listen to with a high level of vocal talents from a rookie group.
- Secondly the video is simple and focuses mainly on the lyrics without much of a storyline or any dance routines.
- Finally Lovelyz are a rookie group who’ve grown in hype and popularity in the recent weeks and months. They are a group to watch for in the future.
- On the negative side; it’s maybe a little safe and lacking much USP.
