Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our first for October 2015. Although there were a number of very interesting new releases this week, we’ve chosen the new release by GOT7. The song is titled “If You Do” and it was released on Monday September 28th. Since then the video has been viewed around 3 million times on the JYP Entertainment YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “If You Do” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song is relaxed, has a good flow and a nice mix of vocals and rapping.
- Secondly the video has a few overlapping storylines with match the lyrics nicely.
- Finally GOT7 were heavily hyped both last year and this at the next big KPOP supergroup, this release might help their case.
- On the negative side; it’s a little safe and doesn’t feature much in the way of development.
