Korean FA Cup 2015 Quarter Finals October 14thThe Korean FA Cup / KFA Cup enters it’s Semi Final stage this Wednesday evening (October 14th 2015). This years cup has featured a few shock results and this round had an interesting as only 1 game features 2 K League Classic sides, and the rest are giant killings in the making.

South Korea like any footballing nation has an exciting cup, the FA Cup of Korea has been running since 1970 and has a proud history. Although most K League sides focus on the league and sadly cup games are renowned for their low attendances, they can produce some shocks and the interest is building and the competition improves year on year.

This year the competition started in March and had a record number of teams enter 79 (up from 72 in 2014). Teams still in the competition include University sides and amateur teams as well as the professionals from the K League Classic / Challenge. The overall winner also gains a place in the 2016 AFC Champions League.

All games are being played on Wednesday evening October 14th. If scores remain even at full time, extra time and penalties are used to determine the winners. So no replays.

KFA Korean FA Cup 2015 Semi Final Fixtures, Previews & Predictions

Has this is the Semi Final stage it’s unlikely sides will use weakened teams. Also all of the remaining sides are from the K League Classic;

Incheon United vs. Jeonnam Dragons @ 7.30pm

The first semi final game is an all K League Classic Relegation Group clash between Incheon United and Jeonnam Dragons. Incheon United are currently 7th and Jeonnam are one place below them. The last time they met Incheon won 2-0.

Prediction: 2 – 1

Ulsan Hyundai vs. FC Seoul @ 7.30pm

Again 2 K League Classic sides clash as Ulsan Hyundai take on FC Seoul. FC Seoul are currently 5th, whilst Ulsan Hyundai are down in 9th. They played each other back in August with Seoul winning 2 – 1.

Prediction: 0 – 1

Wednesday October 14th 2015:

Ulsan Hyundai 1 – 2 FC Seoul
Incheon United 2 – 0 (AET) Jeonnam Dragons

Therefore the final will be between local rivals FC Seoul and Incheon United.
It should be on October 31st, most likely at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
