Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our first for December 2015. Although there were a number of very interesting new releases this week, we’ve chosen the new release from KPOP Icon PSY. The song is titled “Daddy” and it was released this past Monday November 30th. Since then the video has been viewed over 26milliom times on the Official PSY YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “Daddy” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song has very PSY style lyrics and a style Sound. It’s got a cool dance/techno theme with strong (if minimal) vocals from CL.
- Secondly the video it’s interesting if pretty strange with a slight storyline and some cool cameos.
- Finally PSY of course is best known for his hit song Gangnam Style and so each of the release since then are going to be popular.
- On the negative side; it’s no Gangnam Style, but it’s better than his other recent releases.
