Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our fourth for January 2016. Although there were a number of very interesting new releases recently, we’ve chosen the new release from KPOP Rap Duo Baechigi (feat. Yeoeun from MelodyDay) The song is titled “Walkak” (rough translation is Burst Out Crying) and it was officially released on Tuesday January 12th. In that time its been viewed around 120,000 times on the YMCent YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “Walkak” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song has the expected high quality rapping from Baechigi mixes perfectly with the sweet vocals of Yeoeun.
- Secondly the music video has a story line that matches the lyrics perfectly.
- Finally Baechigi have been active for 17years and are now one of the only 90s acts still around.
- On the negative side; just like last weeks Lucky J song this one might get lost vs. the mainstream KPOP releases scheduled for this coming week.
