K League Classic 2016 Round 5 + Challenge Round 4 – Previews / Predictions (April 13th)

The K League Classic continues with a Wednesday afternoon round of games, specially for the public holiday / election day. The highlight match is this round of action is the last game between 2 of the surprise packages of the season so far. Suwon City vs. Ulsan Hyundai, both sides are in the top half of the table and a win for either side would help them massively.

After just a few weeks the table doesn’t show much yet. Seongnam sit on top with FC Seoul and Jeonbuk following close behind. Jeonnam and Incheon are at the bottom of the table.

K League Classic 2016 Round 5 Previews & Predictions

This round of games all take place Wednesday (6). All of the games take place in the afternoon, as it’s a public holiday in South Korea due to the election. Here are our brief previews and predictions for the 5th round of 2016 K League Classic games;

Wednesday April 13th 2016:

Suwon Bluewings vs. Pohang Steelers (2pm)

Suwon Bluewings and Pohang Steelers have had very similar starts to the seasons, both are on 5 points and only separated by goal difference. Suwon Bluewings drew at the weekend on the road against Jeju, whilst Pohang also drew but against Jeonbuk. This will be a close game and a draw seems like the most likely outcome.
Prediction: 1 – 1

Seongnam FC vs. Jeonnam Dragons (2pm)

Seongnam FC are the surprise leaders of the K League at this early stage of the season. They have 10 points from their opening 4 games and beat Incheon at the weekend 3-2. Jeonnam Dragons have 2 points from 4 games. Seongnam will be favorites to win this one.
Prediction: 2 – 0

Jeonbuk Hyundai vs. Incheon United (2pm)

Reigning champions Jeonbuk Hyundai have had a good start to their season with 2 wins and 2 draws to date and sit 3rd on the table. Incheon United on the other hand have struggled this season and have lost all 4 of their games. Jeonbuk will be heavy favorites to win this one.
Prediction: 3 – 1

Gwangju vs. FC Seoul (2pm)

Gwangju have dropped in form in recent weeks losing their last 2 games and sit 9th in the table. FC Seoul on the other hand have won their previous 3 league games on the bounce and are 2nd in the league. Seoul will favorites to take home the three point from this one.
Prediction: 1 – 2

Jeju United vs. Sangju Sangmu (4pm)

Jeju United have 4 points from their opening 4 games and haven’t won since the start of the season. Sangju Sangmu have exactly the same record and also haven’t won since the opening weekend. Jeju might have the slight edge with home advantage here.
Prediction: 1 – 0

Suwon City vs. Ulsan Hyundai (4pm)

Suwon City have started their first ever season in the top flight impressively, and are currently undefeated with 3 draws and a win to their record. Ulsan Hyundai have looked better this season than last, and have won their previous 2 game and are just above Suwon in the table. This game could go either way and should be entertaining, therefore we’re siding with a draw.
Prediction: 2 – 2

K League Challenge 2016 Round 4

The K League Challenge season continues this midweek round with 5 interesting matchups. The highlight game is the clash between two sides expected to be involved in the promotion challenge, Busan I’Park & Seoul E-Land. They’re currently 3rd & 2nd respectively and this game should be interesting and entertaining.

K League Challenge 2016 League Table Update

The league table doesn’t show that much so far. Ansan Mugunghwa lead the lead with a 100% record. Seoul, Busan and Daegu make up the playoff places. With finally Daejeon Citizen sitting at the bottom without any points so far this season.
