K League Classic 2016 Round 8 + Challenge Round 7 – Previews / Predictions (April 30th – May 1st)

The K League Classic moves into it’s eighth round of the 2016 season this coming weekend. The key game this weekend is of course the SUPER MATCH between Suwon Bluewings and FC Seoul. It’s the key derby match in the K League and it always well attended (normally around 30,000) and competitive.

K League Classic 2016 League Table Update

After just over a month the table is now starting to take shape. FC Seoul sit at the top of the table 5 points clear, with Jeonbuk and Seongnam following close behind. Incheon are still at the bottom of the table, 3 points behind slipping behind the rest.

K League Classic 2016 Round 8 Previews & Predictions

This round of games take place on Saturday (3) and Sunday (3). All of the games take place in the afternoon. Here are our brief previews and predictions for the 8th round of 2016 K League Classic games;

Saturday April 30th 2016:

Pohang Steelers vs. Jeju United (2pm)

Pohang Steelers have had a poor start to the 2016 season with only 1 win from their 7 games. Jeju United on the other hand have looked generally strong winning 3 of their 7 games, however away from home they can struggle. Jeju on paper have a slight edge but it will be close.
Prediction: 1 – 2

Suwon Bluewings vs. FC Seoul (3pm)

This is the Super Match a highlight clash in the K League Season. Suwon Bluewings have been drawn specialists this season with 5 draws in 7 games. Whilst FC Seoul are on a big winning run 6 wins in a row, they only lost their opening game of the season. Seoul will be favorites here but Suwon will make a game of it.
Prediction: 1 – 2

Jeonbuk Hyundai vs. Suwon City (4pm)

Jeonbuk Hyundai are the only undefeated side left in the K League Classic this season, with 3 wins and 4 draws from their 7 games. Suwon City just like their city neighbors have been draw specialists this season with 5 in their 7 games. This one will be close and a draw seems a likely outcome.
Prediction: 1 – 1

Sunday May 1st 2016:

Incheon United vs. Ulsan Hyundai (2pm)

Incheon United have improved recently drawing their last 3 games and the rumor is that Vietnamese star Lương Xuân Trường will be in the matchday squad. Ulsan Hyundai have suffered a slight blip recently losing their last 2 games but are still mid-table. We feel Incheon could edge this one but it will be close.
Prediction: 1 – 0

Jeonnam Dragons vs. Sangju Sangmu (2pm)

Jeonnam Dragons won for the first time last weekend beating Pohang 1-0 on the road. However they’re still 2nd from bottom. Sangju Sangmu are one of 5 sides currently on 8 points and have 5 points from 4 games, but have lost all of their away matches this season. This will be close and a draw seems likely.
Prediction: 1 – 1

Seongnam FC vs. Gwangju (4pm)

Seongnam FC host this weekends late game, they’ve lost a little form recently with 2 draws and a defeat from their past 3 games. However they are unbeaten at home so far this season. Gwangju on the other hand have improved a little in recent weeks with 4 points from their last 2 games. This will be close but we see Seongnam bouncing back winning.
Prediction: 2 – 0

K League Challenge 2016 Round 7

The K League Challenge season continues weekend with Round 7 and 5 interesting matchups. The highlight game of this round is on Saturday between league leaders Ansan Mugunghwa and 2nd placed Seoul E-Land. Both sides won in the cup during the week and this game will be key moving forward this season.

K League Challenge 2016 League Table Update

The league table only shows a little at the moment. Ansan Mugunghwa lead the way with a 4 point gap to Seoul, Gangwon and Daegu who make up the playoff places. With finally Gyeongnam are bottom but only due to their points deduction, 4 points behind Goyang Zaicro.
