The K League Challenge has a short turnaround from “Children’s Day” Round 8 to this Super Sunday Round 9. There are 5 interesting fixtures, however the highlight tie is between two high flying sides League Leaders Ansan Mugunghwa and Playoff placed Daegu. This game should be entertaining and could be key in the long run.
K League Challenge 2016 League Table Update
The league table it starting to take shape with all sides playing at least 7 games. Ansan Mugunghwa lead the way with a 3 point gap to Gangwon, Daegu and Bucheon who make up the playoff places. With finally Gyeongnam are bottom but only due to their points deduction, 6 points behind Goyang Zaicro.
K League Challenge 2016 Round 9 Predictions
This round of games all take place on Sunday. All of the games take place in the afternoon (Between 1.30pm and 3pm). Here are our predictions for the 9th round of 2016 K League Challenge games;
Sunday May 8th 2016:
Busan I’Park vs. FC Anyang (1.30pm)
Busan have lost 3 of their last 4 games and now sit just below mid table. FC Anyang are one place above them on goal difference. They’re also struggling at the moment. This one looks like a draw.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Goyang Zaicro vs. Bucheon 1995 (2pm)
Goyang picked up their first win of the season on Children’s Day thanks to an injury time penalty. Bucheon are currently in the playoffs with 3 wins from their last 4 games. Bucheon will be favorites to win here.
Prediction: 0 – 2
Daejeon Citizen vs. Gangwon (2pm)
Have improved since their awful start to the season, with 2 wins and a draw from their last 3 games. Gangwon have won 5 on the bounce and are now within touching distance leaders Ansan. This will be close but we see Gangwon edging this one.
Prediction: 1 – 2
Gyeongnam vs. Seoul E-Land (2pm)
Bottom side Gyeongnam have lost their last two games, however they’re only bottom due to a 10 point deduction from bribery. Seoul E-Land have also lost their last 2 games and have fallen out of the playoff places. A close game on paper and a draw seem the most likely outcome.
Prediction: 1 – 1
Ansan Mugunghwa vs. Daegu (3pm)
Ansan lost for just the second time this season on Children’s Day against a strong Bucheon 1995. However they’re still top of the league. Daegu are unbeaten this season and have the best defensive record in the league. This game could be anyway, however Ansan at home should have the edge.
Prediction: 1 – 0
