The 2016 Korean FA Cup (fa컵) started back at beginning of March with sides from across the country entering the 20th anniversary competition. There are still a handful of lower league and university sides still in the competition as the big boys from the K League Classic enter at this stage.

There are 16 ties in this round of the competition with 12 K League Classic, 8 K League Challenge, 5 National League, 3 K-3 League and 4 University sides remaining at this stage.
The standout games are; firstly the Busan derby between Busan I’Park (K League Challenge) and Busan Transportation (National League), it should be an interesting game but the attendance maybe low. Secondly Incheon United (Bottom of the K League Classic) vs. Cheongju City (K-3 League), a possible banana skin tie here. Finally FC Anyang (K League Challenge) vs. Jeonbuk Hyundai (Reigning K League Classic Champions), Anyang gave both Suwon Bluewings and Pohang Steelers scares in recent years and Jeonbuk maybe in for a long night.
