Seongnam FC: They are currently 3rd in the league 5 points below leaders and this weekends opponents Jeonbuk Hyundai. Their recent form has been mixed with 3 wins and 2 defeats plus a win in the FA Cup. Their last game however ended in defeat to bottom side Incheon United (their first win the season). Key man is 23 year old Brazilian forward Tiago who is the leagues top goalscorer so far this season with 9 goals.
Jeonbuk Hyundai: Reigning champions for the past 2 season and current league leaders, Jeonbuk would certainly be a glory supporters top pick. They have won 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5 league games. Whilst also winning in the FA Cup and progressing to the quarter finals of the Asian Champions League. Key Man Kim Shin-Wook has struggled to find his Ulsan form since moving to Jeonbuk, but this could be his time to shine.
Head-to-Head: They played each other back in April with Jeonbuk coming away with the win 3-2, thanks to a late Kim Bo-Kyung goal.
Last season Jeonbuk won 2 (1-0 & 2-0), Seongnam won 1 (2-1) and the other ended 1-1.
Since 2003 they’ve played 41 times. Jeonbuk Hyundai have the edge winning 19, Seongnam won 17 and 5 ended in a draw.
Prediction: Seongnam FC 1 – 2 Jeonbuk Hyundai
Jeonbuk have found the same type of form that helped them win the league the past 2 season. Seongnam won’t make it easy, but it’s hard not to side with Jeonbuk.
