Hello and welcome to this weeks Modern Seoul KPOP Song of the Week, our second for June 2016.
There have been a few interesting new KPOP releases over the past few weeks, however we’ve chosen the new release from boy band EXO. The song is titled “Monster” and it was released on YouTube Wednesday June 8th, in that short time it’s been viewed close to 10million times on the SMTOWN YouTube Channel. Here are our reasons for choosing “Monster” for our KPOP song of the week:
- Firstly the song has a fast and dancey theme, with strong vocals and rapping from start to finish.
- Secondly the video has a slight storyline, but focuses more on dance.
- Finally EXO have been around for 5 years now and are one of the most popular kpop groups currently.
- On the negative side; it’s similar to previous releases, enjoyable yes, original maybe not.
